On December 6, 2025, at approximately 12:17 a.m. Officers responded to the 800 block of Colorado Street in Manhattan, KS, for a reported welfare check of an injured male.
Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old male, identified as Mark Rickenbaker, of Manhattan. Rickenbaker was found to have serious injuries to his body. During the investigation, officers discovered that Rickenbaker had been involved in an altercation prior to their arrival. Rickenbaker was transported by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
This is an isolated incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.
