Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Tuttle Creek Blvd

The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) responded to a fatality crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on Friday, September 27, 2024, at approximately 9:44 PM.

The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard (US-24), between Kimball Avenue and Northfield Drive.

Initial investigation indicates that Kameron Banks, 19, of Manhattan, was traveling westbound on a Honda CX500 Custom motorcycle when he collided with a pedestrian, identified as Travell Toliver, 49, of Manhattan, who was crossing the highway. Mr. Toliver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Banks was transported by Riley County EMS to Ascension Via Christi and later transferred to Stormont Vail in Topeka by Life Star. He is expected to survive his injuries.

The road was closed for several hours to allow for investigation, with assistance from Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) in diverting traffic.
