RCPD Major Brad Ingalls has served the citizens of Manhattan and Riley County since September 7, 2004. He was effectively promoted to the rank of Major on Oct. 15, 2024.

Throughout Ingalls’ career at the RCPD, he has served as a Police Training Officer and a Detective. In 2011, he was promoted to Sergeant where he was a shift supervisor in Patrol, Criminal Intelligence Supervisor, and an Investigations Division Supervisor. In 2018, he was promoted to Lieutenant and led the Special Investigations Unit within the Investigations Division. He then served a stint in charge of Training before returning back to the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander.   

Ingalls attended Emporia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. Ingalls was selected to attend the prestigious 296th Session of the FBI National Academy in September 2025, which is an 11-week curriculum of advanced communication, leadership and fitness training.
