Melissa Mosher


Melissa Mosher joined the Riley County Police Department in September 2019 as the newly established Victim Advocate Coordinator. Melissa graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology and minoring in Leadership Studies. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 2003 with a Master's of Social Work. 

Melissa is part of the Kansas Organization for Victim Assistance (KOVA).  

Melissa's role is to assist victims of crime with emotional support and accompaniment during a traumatic experience. She will provide systems-based advocacy services to victims of crime during each step of the criminal investigation process. Through the Victim Advocate Coordinator, you will be able to receive referrals for direct social services. Melissa is working to strengthen Riley County Police Department's (RCPD's) community collaborations and relations with citizens through education and advocacy. Melissa is in the office Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm unless otherwise requested by a victim of crime.
