Manhattan, Kan. -
Officers filed a report for forgery, attempted unlawful obtaining a prescription drug and identity theft in the 500 block of 3rd Pl in Manhattan on April 1, 2025, at approximately 3:26 p.m. A 30-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman were listed as the victims when it was reported a 35-year-old woman used the victim’s information to attempt to obtain a prescription drug. Marijke Torres, 35, of Manhattan was arrested for attempted unlawful obtaining a prescription drug, forgery and 3 counts of identity theft. Torres was issued a total bond of $14,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1000 block of Cassidy Dr. in Manhattan on April 1, 2025 at approximately 5:48 p.m. A 36-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged the tires on her vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500. Anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
David Combs, 57, of Manhattan was arrested on April 1, 2025, at approximately 8:28 a.m. on a Riley County District Court warrant for aggravated assault; use of a deadly weapon, stalking and reckless driving. Combs remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $8,000.
Karen Gomez Parra, 28, of Manhattan was arrested on April 1, 2025, at approximately 4:38 p.m. on a Riley County District Court warrant for aggravated battery and battery. Gomez Parra was issued a total bond of $20,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
