Manhattan, Kan. -

Officers filed a report of an injury accident at the corner of Osage and N. 5th St. on July 31, 2024, at approximately 3:01 PM.  Officers reported a 25-year-old male was struck while riding an e-bike by a vehicle driven by an 83-year-old male. The bicyclist, Zackary Murphy, was transported via EMS to Via Christi for his injuries.  He was later life-flighted to Stromont Vail for further treatment of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Frederick Bammes, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Officers filed a report of aggravated assault, criminal destruction of property, and attempted burglary in the 400 block of Fifteenth Street in Ogden on July 31, 2024, at approximately 3:58 PM.  Officers reported Jacob Shepard, 27, of Ogden, initially was on the victim's porch throwing items. Eventually, Shepard attempted to gain access to the residence. Officers arrested Shepard on the probable cause offenses of aggravated assault, criminal destruction of property, and attempted burglary. Total bond was set at $40,000. Shepard was confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report of rape and sexual battery in Manhattan on July 31, 2024, at approximately 4:06 PM.  Due to the nature of this crime, no other information will be released at this time.

Crystal Coker, 34, of Manhattan, was arrested on the probable cause offenses of use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body and trafficking contraband into a correctional/care facility in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on July 31, 2024, at approximately 8:35 PM. Total bond was set at $5,000. Coker was confined at the time of this report.
