Manhattan, Kan. -
Officers filed a report of an injury accident at the corner of Claflin Road and Wreath Ave in Manhattan on July 2, 2024 at approximately 11:38 AM. Officers reported Laura Zill, 61, of Manhattan, failed to yield the right of way to Glady Schroeder, 84, also of Manhattan. Zill was transported to the Via Christi via EMS for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Zill was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
Maurice Coleman, 40, of Overland Park, Kansas was arrested on July 2, 2024, at approximately 12:05 PM in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza. Coleman was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. The original charges in this matter were for possession of anabolic steroids and possession of marijuana. Total bond was set at $15,000. Coleman was not confined at the time of this report.
Michael Vazquez, 49, of Manhattan, was arrested on July 2, 2024, at approximately 3:40 PM in the 1000 block of South Seth Child Road. Vazquez was arrested on probable cause offenses of violation of the offender registration act- 2nd conviction x 5. Total bond was set at $50,000. Vazquez was confined at the time of this report.
Damon Brown, 49, of Manhattan, was arrested on July 2, 2024, at approximately 5:50 PM in the 1000 block of South Seth Child Road. Brown was arrested on probable cause offenses of violation of the offender registration act- 1st conviction x 4. Total bond was set at $20,000. Brown was confined at the time of this report.
