Manhattan, Kan. -
Officers reported a motor vehicle theft in the 500 block of S. 15th Street on December 9, 2024 at approximately 6:55 AM. Officers listed Olgoonik Enterprise as the victim when it was reported a work truck was stolen by an unknown suspect. It was discovered an additional vehicle was missing, a 2012 GMC Denali. Both vehicles were later located in Frankfort, Kansas. A suspect, Kimberlea Becklund, 32, homeless, was arrested by the Pottawatomie County Sherriff's office.
Officers filed a report of aggravated battery in the 700 block of Pebblebrook Circle on December 9, 2024, at approximately 12:40 PM. Officers listed a 14-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a known 14-year-old male hit the victim over the head twice with a beer bottle causing the bottle to shatter and requiring medical attention.
Officers filed ten (10) reports of motor vehicle theft in the last 24-hours. It cannot be emphasized enough to secure your property, lock your vehicles, and park in well-lit places. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles.
Benigno Aquino, Jr., 40, of Manhattan, was arrested on December 9, 2024, at approximately 5:15 PM in the 2300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. Aquino was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. The original charges in this matter were for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Total bond was set at $5,000. Aquino was not confined at the time of this report.
