Manhattan, Kan. -
Officers filed a report of criminal damage to property in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Place on August 5, 2024, at approximately 10:29 AM. Officers list the Housing Authority as the victim when it was reported a door jam had been damaged on a residence by an unknown suspect. Total loss associated with this report is approximately $2,500. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Officers filed a report of rape/ sexual battery on August 5, 2024, at approximately 12:48 PM in Manhattan. Due to the nature of this matter, no other information will be released at this time.
Officers files a report of criminal discharge of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1700 block of Laramie Street on August 5, 2024, at approximately 10:48 PM. Officers listed society and a 26-year-old male as the victim when it was reported he came home to discover a bullet hole in his ceiling that had penetrated the countertop and entered into the dishwasher. No one was hurt in this matter however, officers did recover a stolen gun.
Terron Maples, Jr., 22, of Kansas City, MO, was arrested on August 5, 2024, at approximately 4:00 PM in the 1000 S. Seth Child Road. Maples as arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. The original charge in this matter is for theft of property or services. Total bond was set at $25,000. Maples was confined at the time of this report.
