Join the Riley County Police Department for free food and a meet-and-greet with RCPD personnel, specialty teams, vehicles and other local emergency service units at National Night Out. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 5, at City Park along Central Park Rd. from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Neighborhoods throughout Riley County are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.

“National Night Out provides a platform for us to join with our local neighbors and build on the amazing relationship we have with the people of Riley County,” Assistant Director Kurt Moldrup said. “We believe engaging with the members of this community is important to maintain our commitment of reducing crime and improving the quality of life for the citizens we serve.”

The RCPD BBQ Team will be serving hamburgers and hotdogs from the RCPD BBQ Trailer. After receiving food, attendees can walk through displayed emergency response vehicles and interact with the personnel present.

National Night Out is nationally sponsored by NATW, Ring, Associa, New York Life, Starbucks, AT&T, Academy Sports & Outdoors, and co-sponsored locally by the Riley County Police Department.
