Members of the Riley County Police Department raised over $2,000 for Kansas athletes with intellectual disabilities by participating in the virtual Kansas Special Olympics Polar Plunge — Corona Style.

Officers, Dispatchers and Corrections Officers soaked themselves in ice-cold water all for charity.

RCPD participates in the yearly event which helps to keep more than 4,000 Special Olympics Athletes on the playing field throughout the year.

We continue supporting our community through this public health crisis in whatever means we can.

A Riley County Police Officer has been recognized as the Veterans of Foreign War State of Kansas Officer of the Year.  Officer Michael Wagenblast was presented the award at the February Law Board meeting in Ogden.
