Additional officers will be present in Aggieville on Saturday, March 24, 2018 to accomodate anticipated celebratory crowds when the Kansas State Wildcats play in the Elite 8 round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament. 

Access to Aggieville and the surrounding Triangle Park will be closed to all vehicle traffic beginning at Noon on Saturday. Road closures include: Manhattan Ave. from Anderson to Moro, Moro from Manhattan Ave. to 11th St. and 12st St. from the North alley on Moro to the South alley on Moro.

School break safety tips ◊

MANHATTAN, KAN. – The Lawrence Police Department and the Riley County Police Department continue to work together to make our communities safer, but we need your help.

 

As Spring break approaches, we want to remind students that areas of high densities of student housing are often targeted by criminals during breaks in the academic calendar because a majority of residents are out of town.

On Saturday, March 10, 2018, the Riley County Police Department will establish and maintain an Operations Center at the Manhattan City Park Pavilion for the annual Fake Patty’s Day celebration.

The Public Information Officer for the Riley County Police Department will host periodic news briefings throughout the day to update the public and members of the media on crime occurring during the event.
