MANHATTAN, KAN. – At approximately 6:25 PM on June 29, 2015 the Riley County Police Department responded to a welfare check near the intersection of Casement and Barnes Road in Manhattan.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – In the late afternoon hours of June 29, 2015 staff at Via Christi Hospital on College Ave. in Manhattan received a piece of mail that they later deemed to be suspicious in nature.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – Police in Riley County responded to an emergent incident in the 500 block of Colorado Street at approximately 2:15 AM on June 27, 2015 after a 911 call led officers to believe a subject had brandished a firearm in a threatening manner.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – On Saturday, June 27, 2015 at approximately 2:15 AM the Riley County Police Department responded to 510 Colorado Street after a subject potentially dangerous to the community had barricaded himself inside of his home.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –The Riley County Police Department will be holding its monthly NextCoffee meeting on June 29, 2015 at 5:30 PM. The meeting will be held at Sharp’s Short Stop, 118 W Randolph Street, in Randolph, Kansas. Members of the Riley County Police Department will be present for a meet and greet with northern Riley County community members and will hold a question and answer session until 6:30 PM.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – According to the National Weather Service out of Topeka, Kansas this afternoon, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, will see the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms along and north of I-70 which includes Manhattan and Riley County. This weather is expected to be in the area later today and with it locally heavy rain with the possibility of localized flooding, hail, damaging winds, and other severe weather are expected.

MANHATTAN, KAN. - On June 4, 2015 officers, detectives, and employees of the Riley County Police Department will take part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit the Special Olympics of Kansas along with over 950 other participants from across the State of Kansas.
