SUSPECT APPREHENDED ON MARCH 12, 2015

MANHATTAN, KAN. – On March 10, 2015 at approximately 2:10 AM officers with the Riley County Police Department were dispatched to an emergent call for service regarding a shooting with injury. This incident was ultimately determined to have taken place on Skyway Drive near the intersection of East Riley Ave. just outside of Ogden, Kansas.

Police found that Casey Lindley, 27, of Ogden, Kansas had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was in need of emergency medical attention. He was transported and then life-flighted to a medical care facility in Topeka, Kansas where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Police continue to investigate the matter and have identified a person of interest. No arrests have been made at the time of this report. Due to its ongoing status no further information has been released at this time. 

Detectives with the Riley County Police Department are asking that anyone with information about this investigation contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers at 785-539-7777. By using this service tipsters can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.  

Released March 10, 2015:

At approximately 2:10 AM on March 10, 2015, the Riley County Police Department Dispatch Center received an emergent call for service regarding an apparent gunshot wound near the 500 block of Riley Ave. in Ogden, Kansas. Officers are currently investigating the matter and due to its ongoing status there is no further information to release. 

The victim was transported and ultimately life-flighted to a medical care facility for further treatment. No arrests have been made, however, RCPD believes this to be an isolated event and has no evidence to suggest the general public is in danger at this time. 

Police continue to investigate the matter, however, have not filed a criminal report at the time of this release.
