Riley County Police Department Captain Josh Kyle has served as a sworn officer for the community of Manhattan/Riley County since August 1991 and became a Captain in July of 2014. Throughout Josh’s service at RCPD he has been assigned to a number of functions to include 15 years in uniform patrol. He has been heavily involved in police training which culminated in receiving Level IV Facilitator status through the Police Society for Problem-Based Learning. Josh has also been involved in operationalizing several new policing initiatives. Josh is a graduate of Manhattan High School and Kansas State University. He completed the 130th Administrative Officer’s Course at the Southern Police Institute located within the University of Louisville (KY) and holds a Masters of Science in Justice Administration from the same institution. Josh is married with two children and has lived in Manhattan/Riley County throughout his life. He is the son of retired Captain Dana Kyle (RCPD) and the grandson of deceased Captain Byron “Bud” Kyle of the Kansas Highway Patrol.
